The Guild Literary Complex's Prose Series and Awards help to surface emerging and mid-career prose writers and bring them to the public's attention through an open call for submissions. The series culminates in a final reading and reception where all the contributing writers are honored, the Guild Literary Complex Fiction and Nonfiction Award winners are announced, and those winners each receive $500 and publication of their winning pieces on our website. Final judges have included luminaries such as Stuart Dybek, Alex Kotlowitz, Antonya Nelson and Sam Weller. The series has received very positive audience response as one of the few venues in Chicago that offer people a chance to hear stories and essays read live.
