The Guild Literary Complex is a 30-year-old grassroots literary arts organization creating performance-based events in and around the Chicagoland area.

We partner and collaborate with other community groups on social and restorative justice issues, providing arts and advocacy programming for marginalized voices.

Haymarket House

Haymarket House is a community space in the heart of Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood and home to Haymarket Books. They host political, cultural, literary, and community events in our several events spaces, kitchen, library, and garden. They are committed to uplifting the work of writers, artists, thinkers, activists, and educators who are committed to all struggles for a better world.

WRITER SPOTLIGHT:

Dipika Mukherjee

Dipika Mukherjee, PhD, is an award-winning author of fiction and poetry and an instructor in the Writer’s Studio of the University of Chicago’s Graham School. Her book Shambala Junction won the UK Virginia Prize for Fiction and her book Ode to Broken Things was longlisted for the Man Asian Literary Prize.

Her creative work is included in The Best Small Fictions 2019 and appears in World Literature Today, Asia Literary Review, Del Sol Review, and Chicago Quarterly Review, and her essays appear in Newsweek, Los Angeles Review of Books, Hemispheres, Orion, ScrollThe Edge and more.
